“Harmony includes diversity as a richness to be embraced and nurtured. At the same time, attaining harmony requires never losing sight of our unity in Christ, which is the goal.” (USCCB, Encountering Christ in Harmony)
The Asian Catholic Ministry of the Diocese of Cleveland was formed in 1996 in response to the needs of Asian Catholic communities. The ministry serves to connect the communities with resources in the diocese and in the larger Cleveland area.
The Asian Ministry Committee is comprised of representatives of the various Asian Catholic communities who meet once a month to discuss issues that affect their respective communities and plan activities to assist in their spiritual growth.
We, representing the different Asian communities, commit ourselves to assist the Diocese of Cleveland in serving the pastoral needs of our people. As a coordinating group, we work for the unity of our particular communities, and our integration and participation in the local church. Appreciative of the rich diversity of cultures and traditions that our people bring, we offer this giftedness as our unique contribution to the building of God’s Kingdom today.
The various Asian Catholic communities gather together throughout the year to build community and celebrate faith and culture.
